Designed for those employed in Green List occupations or the transport and care sectors, this visa rewards at least two years’ eligible work experience with residency rights. Applicants—and their partners and dependants—must satisfy criteria around employment, health, character and English language.
You qualify if you:
Hold a current work visa (or a Critical Purpose Visitor Visa permitting work)
Have completed 24 months of eligible NZ work in the last 30 months
Are employed by—or have a job offer from—an accredited NZ employer
Work in a Tier 2 Green List role, the transport sector or the care workforce
Earn at least the median wage (special rates apply for bus drivers and care workers)
Are 55 years or younger on application

Work Experience
Minimum 24 months’ full-time work (30 + hours per week) in one of the recognised sectors
Pay must meet the median wage at visa grant, or the specific sector rate
Employment / Job Offer
Must be permanent or a fixed-term contract of 12 months+
Provide your employment agreement or formal offer, plus a detailed job description
Health & Character
Full medical examination and chest X-ray (children under 11: medical only)
Police certificates for anyone aged 17+ from all relevant countries
English Proficiency
Evidence via prior study, citizenship or an approved test (valid within two years)
Dependants 16+ must either meet language criteria or prepay for tuition
Family Inclusion
Partners and children (up to age 24) may apply with you
Supply proof of genuine relationships (marriage or birth certificates)
Care Workforce
– 24 months’ care work at NZD $28.25/hour minimum
Transport
– 24 months’ bus-driving or other transport role
– Bus drivers: NZD $28/hour; other roles: at or above median wage
