You must:
Hold an offer of place from an NZ–accredited provider
Demonstrate funds (NZD 20,000 per year or NZD 1,250 per month) plus tuition fees paid
Prove English proficiency (e.g. IELTS 5.5 in each band)
Have comprehensive medical & travel insurance for your stay
Meet health & character requirements (X-ray/medical if staying > six months; police certificate if > 24 months stay)
Show genuine intentions to study and depart at visa expiry
Provide onward travel evidence or funds to purchase a ticket

English Language
– IELTS, TOEFL or equivalent, meeting minimum scores as specified by your provider
Insurance
– Cover for travel, medical treatment, hospitalisation and repatriation
Health & Character
– Chest X-ray if staying over six months or from a high-TB country
– Medical certificate if staying over 12 months
– Police certificates for applicants 17+ staying longer than two years
Genuine Intentions & Onward Travel
– Statement of purpose outlining study plans
