The National Innovation Visa – Subclass 858 replaced the former Global Talent Independent Visa (GTI) and Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP).

This strategic shift aims to streamline Australia’s migration program and attract exceptionally talented individuals who can drive innovation and economic growth in key sectors.​

Eligibility

To be eligible for the National Innovation Visa, applicants must:

  • Demonstrate exceptional achievement: Provide evidence of internationally recognised accomplishments in their field, such as awards, patents, publications, or media coverage.

  • Expression of Interest (EOI): Submit an EOI through the Department of Home Affairs contact form.

  • Invitation to apply: Receive an invitation to apply for the visa within 60 days of EOI approval.
