Prospective Marriage Visa

The Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) is designed for individuals planning to enter Australia with the intention of marrying their prospective partner.

This temporary visa allows you to apply for the Partner (subclasses 820 & 801) visa within Australia after marriage. It is important to note that you must get married within 9 months of arriving in Australia, starting from the day your Prospective Marriage Visa is granted.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following criteria:

The Prospective Marriage Visa (subclass 300) requires the submission of a Notice of Intent to Marry along with the application.
In addition to demonstrating a sincere intention to marry upon visa approval, the application must provide evidence of a genuine and ongoing relationship with your partner.

Sponsor Eligibility

Sponsor must offer their prospective partner (the visa applicant) accommodation, financial support, and other necessary assistance such as childcare.
To become a sponsor, you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen.
You must also be at least 18 years old or meet specific criteria set forth.

Must not be closely related to your fiancé.
Must have the intention to marry and genuinely live with your prospective partner in a committed relationship.
