Eligibility:

To be eligible for this visa, you must meet the following criteria:

  • For school students, the age requirement varies depending on the academic year. Proof of age must be provided for each stage of education.
  • A Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) letter is necessary to validate the visa application. Without it, the application will not be processed.
  • If applying for multiple courses, a separate CoE must be provided for each course mentioned in the visa application.
  • Students under 18 years of age must make suitable welfare arrangements.
  • Evidence of English language proficiency must be provided through approved test scores.
  • Students and their accompanying family members must have adequate health insurance from an approved Australian insurance company throughout their stay.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover living expenses in Australia is required.
  • Applicants must demonstrate their intention to return to their home country after completing their studies.
  • Students and family members over 18 years of age must meet health and character requirements.
  • No previous instances of visa cancellation or refusal should exist.

Requirements:

You will need to provide the following as evidence to apply for the visa:

  • Enrol in a registered full-time course and provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) as part of your visa application. Make sure you meet the entry requirements set by the education provider, including prerequisites, qualifications, work experience, and English language proficiency.
  • Have genuine access to sufficient funds to cover your expenses and those of any accompanying family members throughout your stay in Australia. Declare your financial capability in the application and provide evidence. Minimum financial thresholds and acceptable sources of funds apply.
  • Provide evidence of meeting the English language requirement, unless exempt. Take a prescribed English language test within a specified timeframe and achieve a minimum test score as per the student visa requirements. The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a commonly used test.
  • Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) – demonstrate your intention to reside temporarily in Australia and comply with the conditions of your student visa. Consider your home country circumstances, potential circumstances in Australia, course relevance to your future, immigration history, and other relevant factors.
  • Meet health and character criteria and ensure you have adequate health insurance for yourself and accompanying family members in Australia.
  • Additional criteria may also apply.
